The exhibition

It is through the intimacy of her diary that the exhibition introduces us to Fernande Olivier, born Amélie Lang. This autobiographical document of the most direct, gathering notes on her life as well as sketches of the model by herself, leads from the outset to a proximity with her look. This is a relevant approach that allows us to follow the different representations made by the artists for whom she posed, while remaining aware of the woman behind the painter's easel or the sculptor's clay. Through the testimony of Fernande Olivier, it is the life of the artists of the Bateau-Lavoir and Montmartre that is shown throughout the exhibition, the beginnings of the young Picasso in Paris and the beginnings of Cubism whose birth and evolution she observes.
