Robert Ryman. Le regard en acte.

Robert Ryman. Le regard en acte. : Robert Ryman, Untitled, 1959, huile et gesso sur lin, 134 x 134 cm, Collection privée.

He is known as the painter of the white square, even though he is not the reference for the white canvas in Yasmina Reza's 1994 play "Art," which actually refers to Martin Barré's work. It's a great initiative to revisit, in Paris, after Ryman's exhibition at the Pompidou Center in 1981 and the understated exhibition by Claude Berri at Renn Espace in 1991, a mini-retrospective of his work, although it is somewhat overshadowed by the didacticism of its presentation...
