Modigliani: Confessions of a mask
At a time when all cultural cooperation between France and Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger has been suspended until further notice, the Orangerie's exhibition on Modigliani and his dealer Paul Guillaume is a timely reminder of the effervescent birth of aesthetic exchanges between modern art and African art at the beginning of the 20th century, when Europe was reinventing itself through contact with Africa.
