The exhibition

The myth of the golden age or the promise of a utopian world

Lost paradise or future utopia? The exhibition Âge d'or (Golden Age) at the Musée Courbet unveils seventy works revealing the harmony, beauty and promise of this dream world.

At a time when IPCC forecasts are more or less predicting an ersatz flood, dwelling on the myth of the Golden Age might seem out of place. But thought of as the osmosis between all the beings that make up our world and a space/time in which peace and harmony reign supreme, its representation has been engaged in questioning our societies and their evolution. Are we at the moment of the only fall or at the dawn of major beneficial transformations?
