Seeing double with Arcimboldo

Are we done with Arcimboldo? One of the most popular painters, this great allegorist is nonetheless one of the most complex, and his strange composite portraits, if they delight the eye with their playful combination of fruits, vegetables or objects, still conceal an aesthetic complexity that animates even conceptual art. In any case, this is the intention of Chiara Parisi, director of the Centre Pompidou-Metz, who aims to show with Face à Arcimboldo "the topicality of the vocabulary" and "the persistence of the thought" of the Lombard master.
