François Jeune: Where does this title, Déranger les murs, come from?
Nicolas Guiet: Generally speaking, I have trouble with titles, most of them are generated by those who need them with blind keystrokes on a computer keyboard. But this title was suggested to me by Émilie Houssa, who in the catalog of the exhibition at Labanque has conceived two texts, one literary and one critical. It seemed to me to summarize very synthetically and with a certain irony my intervention on the site. The fictional text by Émilie Houssa, like the overall project, plays with the madness of the place. There is a double meaning everywhere, the idea of awakening a place and disturbing the spectator in his position to the spaces. Labanque in Béthune has kept many clues of the first function of the building, a former Bank of France whose initial role is to hide. An arrangement thought for transparency and secrecy, and which will lead us in each situation to a question of position in a whole, an order, a suggestion of presentation.
