François Jeune
Painter, François Jeune is also a full professor and researcher at the University of Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis working on the question of the pictorial, both in prehistory and in the field of contemporary art. His painting practice is organized around a critical reflection on the act of painting while developing a colorist approach to abstraction. His work has been exhibited in Barcelona, Lyon, Brittany as part of the program L'Art dans les chapelles and on numerous occasions in the Éric Devlin Gallery in Montreal where the artist is represented. He graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and later studied at the Université Paris I Sorbonne. He was also awarded the Villa Médicis hors les murs fellowship in Egypt in 1983.
