Laurence d’Ist
Laurence d'Ist is an art historian, a graduate of the University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne and a member of the A.I.C.A. Curator, she is particularly interested in the place of women in art with the exhibitions Are you there? at the Orangerie of the Senate in 2007 or Etre ainsi, at the Manoir de la Ville de Martigny in 2010. It sheds light on current trends, questioning their relationship to art history and painting in particular (Entre les deux Jacques, Too much, Signes Sensibles), to sculpture (Crisis of the Genre?, Oh Nature!), but also to literature. (Coskun once upon a time) and philosophy (Tragedies Monory).
Curator invited by the famous Maeght Foundation in Saint Paul de Vence, she organizes there the first exhibition homage to the painting of narrative figuration: Jacques Monory (1924-2018). Lecturer in art history (cultural season of Marcoussis, Evry University of Knowledge, IGS Group Business School in Paris), she has collaborated on the art magazine «Cimaise», the newspaper «Découvrir», the Korean cultural magazine «Sa:Gak» The exhibition catalogue «Sculpture'Elles» presented at the Musée des Années Trente in 2011 (Boulogne-Billancourt). She is the author of the book "La Collection de sculptures contemporaines du musée de l'Hospice Saint Roch d'Issoudun".
She writes articles for the magazine «Artension» and the magazine «Art Absolument».
