Judit Reigl was born in 1923 in Hungary. From 1941 to 1946, she attended the Budapest School of Fine Arts, then spent two years travelling through Italy. On her return to Hungary, deeply disappointed by the political situation, she fled at the risk of her life on March 11, 1950. Four months later, she arrived in France - where she still remains - free to paint in that "elangues" she has always desired, that is to say, the "painting of the Mayas, of Van Hi Tche, of Van Gogh, of Cézanne..."
