A multi-disciplinary artist, Eve Malherbe trained in various fields in France and Spain: Plastic Arts in Aix and Lille, Interior Architecture and Design in Paris and Art History in València.
Her work questions the relationship between the representation of the body and different territories, whether iconographic, social or environmental.
She uses a recurring motif, the drape, which she sees as a plastic “symptom”, a revealing phenomenon in painting. For Eve Malherbe, the work of draping and folding refers to the act of painting: the act of folding disturbs a flat surface, creating a three-dimensional space, just as the act of painting interrupts the virginity of the canvas to create a depth conducive to narrative.
