Nhu Xuan Hua is a French artist and photographer of Vietnamese origin who lives and works between Paris and London. She gained recognition by creating fashion photographs for major luxury brands (Dior, Maison Margiela, Kenzo, and Gucci), published in magazines such as Vogue and Time Magazine. Then, starting in 2021, Nhu Xuan Hua developed a more personal practice, producing narrative and conceptual images as part of a process of rediscovering her Vietnamese family heritage. Her first publication, Consequences of a Displaced Memory, published in 2022, brings together her research on her family archives and the displacement of memories. It features photographs of everyday life scenes or family gatherings where the faces are blurred, a technique that universalizes her composition, questions the notions of memory dissipation, and allows for the reconstruction of a memory.
