Voluntarily locked up his entire life in Bologna in Emilia Romagna, Giorgio Morandi seems to have taken up this credo on the other side of the mountains. "Some people can travel the world and see nothing of it, he warned. To understand it, it is necessary not to see too much, but to look at what you see". Having lived from the age of 19, in 1909, until his death in 1964 in the family flat at 36 Via Fondazza, Morandi also only looked at his room - this 9 m2 "camerella incantata" ("enchanted little room"), as the art historian Roberto Longhi called it.
