Hyacinthe Rigaud

1659 (Perpignan) / 1743 (Paris)

Paised by a Leonine icon, both exemplum virtutis of monarchic absolutism and matrix of the same political caricatures, still new, the glory of Híacint Rigau-Ros i Serra (1659-1743) has never been completely eclipsed, if only because of this portrait of Louis XIV in great royal costume.
