Christian Bonnefoi is a singular painter in the constitution of a surface not given in advance. His first series, Eureka or Babel, the backbone of his work's spectrum, set up a pictorial process that is both very simple and complex, using inverted stencils, collage, laminating and stratification. With his Bi-faces presented in the prefiguration exhibition of the Centre d'art des Tanneries d'Amilly, Bonnefoi, semper virens, proposes a transparent surface that makes the back of the painting visible.
