April 7, 1994 marked the beginning of the Rwandan genocide. In just a few months, more than one million people perished. As a witness to this mass crime, Alfredo Jaar devoted many years to the "Rwanda Project" (1994-2000), which stands against the denial, oblivion and international inertia that allowed it to happen.
