Frédérique Loutz's virtuosity enables her to create a figuration of a precision that is both fascinating and disturbing, where the bodies become transparent and reveal the extreme crudity of the flesh and its future made up of fantasies, anxieties and dreams. In her beautiful leaves, the artist illustrates Bataille's definition of eroticism, "an approval of life until death". On large pen-and-ink formats, portraits of strange Goliaths, bizarre machines reminiscent of the world of Kafka or Lautréamont, stand out. On an imposing pencil and eraser drawing with a title in homage to Gertrude Stein - A rose is a rose - a swarm of insects swirls around pipes that look like arterial tracts. Frédérique Loutz corrects Verlaine, who sighs: "I'm as afraid of a kiss as I am of a bee..." to proclaim: "I prefer wasps, they have more sting!"
