Lorenzo Monaco began his training working as a panel painter and miniaturist in the scriptorium of the Florentine monastery of Santa Maria. Later he turned to the flamboyant gothic style where we find a characteristic sinuous movements of figures and draperies, brilliant colors and very rich original architectural compositions.
