Filippo Lippi

1406 (Firenze) / 1469 (Spolète)

Flippo Lippi entered the convent at the age of 15. His passionate and divergent character with the monastic order led to a turbulent life. Despite this incompatibility, he ran a workshop in Prato and created the fresco decoration of the heart of the Duomo. Fra Fillipo Lippi is best known for his numerous representations of the Virgin, the elegance of the silhouettes and the finesse of the facial features in his paintings.
