Pierre Buraglio paints, as Pierre Wat so rightly says, with the history of art, that is to say, by measuring himself against it without useless chatter, without presumptuous feelings towards his masters, in the dialogue engaged by painting playing its part with painting. After graduating from the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he began his career with coverings, and focused on dismantling the material elements of painting. He then stopped painting from 1969 to 1974 to devote himself to activism. The work around and from the work of masters such as Piero della Francesca, Zurbaran, Manet, Picasso ..., which corresponds to his return to the figure, guides his recent work.
