Created over more than 60 years, Pierre Tal-Coat's work shows profound changes that may have disconcerted visitors to his retrospective exhibitions. However, Tal-Coat himself insisted on the singularity of his intention. He recalled the permanence of his preoccupations, tirelessly pursued even though the forms and means of his painting have evolved considerably.
