Josef Hoffmann

1870 (Pirnitz) / 1956 (Vienne)

Josef Hoffmann represents the border between decorative art and art nouveau. The creator of the Viennese Secession combined in his architecture several styles, both geometric and vertical. He shares with Klimt and Moser the practice of ornamentation, inspired by Byzantine and Arab art.
