Auguste Rodin
1840 (Paris) / 1917 (Meudon-la-For)
Known for the freedom he brought to the forms of sculpture, Auguste Rodin remains the most influential figure in the art of sculpture in the second half of the 19th century. Many of his pieces have become sculptural showpieces, such as The Thinker, or his statue in homage to Honoré de Balzac. Numerous erotic drawings are to be found in his work.
