Rachel Whiteread creates singular sculptures in which she transforms everyday objects into architectural spaces to construct works of art that are both poetic and stimulating. In the late 1980s, Whiteread began making sculptures with objects such as beds, sinks, bathtubs and wardrobes with which she explored the private dimension of domestic life and reflected on the human body in terms symbolic.
