Carole Benzaken borrows from the montage technique the possibility of juxtaposing mediums as different as painting and video. While framing the two in parallel, "in a succession of diverse fragments assembled in a frieze", she creates an object whose structure is "quite similar to musical improvisation in jazz". It is a question of rhythm and sequence, of colour too, painted or sound. She is represented by the Nathalie Obadia Gallery, Paris.
