Hassan Musa is a polymorphous Sudanese artist who defines himself as an "image maker" and works with paint on large pieces of assembled fabric; but he is also a calligrapher, engraver and illustrator of children's books. He composes his works from arrangements of pieces of fabric found in markets around the world, both in Kenya and France, to give life to baroque works made up of borrowings from the history of Western art, calligraphy, with messages, flags ... and a strong socio-political content. He works on large free canvases, combinations of ethnographic patchworks sewn and painted, assemblies of embroidered dalmatic of a new kind...
