Solitude is the condition of a spiritual quest which, for Hollan, however, is not turned towards the other world, but on the contrary towards the being of things, whether they are things of nature, these trees that he frequents daily, or manufactured objects (pots, jugs, boxes) but then out of use, also returned to a kind of state of nature. Drawing after drawing, Hollan captures another temporality, wider than the one that governs the social individual, a temporality open to infinity.
