About his series "Les Martiniques" Hervé Beuze says: "In this series I try to make a work of expression with a vocabulary which is clean to me to say the realities of the Antilles which seem strong to me. It is in this spirit that I am interested in the world of the factory and the past of the sugar factories of Martinique, which have a primary and a secondary meaning. These materials interest me a lot by their colors, their textures, their specificities: each of the "Martiniques" that I make puts forward this reflection there."
