“The evening sunset is as much the spectacle of romantic bluettes as the astonishing conflagration announcing an extinction,” wrote Jean-Charles Vergne earlier in 2023 for Beautés, his final exhibition at the FRAC Auvergne. If it had included two small canvases by Christine Safa just acquired for the institution he had directed since 1996 with a certain affection for painting, it is the entire Clermont exhibition space which is this once dedicated to the painter, just thirty years old.
